Dan Fuller is the laid-back owner of Fuller Security Services, but don't mistake laid-back for unprepared. Dan takes draft day seriously, does his homework, monitors the waiver wire, and has quietly built one of the strongest résumés in TCT history.

There is, however, one recurring breach in the security system: Kyle Pitts. No matter the year, the projections, or how many fantasy managers swear they're finally done with him, Pitts somehow finds his way back onto Dan's roster. At this point, we're not sure Dan drafts Kyle Pitts so much as Kyle Pitts drafts Dan.

The approach has clearly worked. Dan climbed from the Backroom to the Champion's Division and has captured three TCT championships, including back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2025 with a third-place season sandwiched between them.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Quiet, prepared, and consistently dangerous. Dan doesn't need to dominate the group chat—he'd rather dominate the standings. Just don't ask the owner of a security company why he keeps leaving the door unlocked for Kyle Pitts.

One of the elder statesmen of the TCT, Joe Bettencourt entered the league in 2018 having never played fantasy football before. That didn't last long. Joe quickly became one of the league's most passionate managers—serious about draft preparation, active throughout the season, and fully invested in whatever collection of players he's assembled.

Joe doesn't have favorite players in the traditional sense. Instead, he prefers what he calls “happy guys.” 

What qualifies someone as a happy guy cannot be defined, explained, measured, or apparently questioned. You either look at a player and know he's a happy guy—or you don't. Years later, we're still waiting for the analytics community to catch up.  The philosophy eventually produced results. Joe won the 2024 Backroom Championship and followed it by jumping to the Champion's Division in 2025 and immediately reaching the championship game.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Passionate, prepared, and living proof that you don't need decades of fantasy experience when you've discovered an advanced roster-building metric nobody else understands. The numbers guys have ADP, target share, and expected points. Joe has happy guys.

Matt Lincoln is one of the TCT’s true numbers guys. He researches heavily, comes prepared on draft day, attacks the waiver wire, and generally spends the season doing exactly what the analytics say a good fantasy manager should do. The results speak for themselves—Matt wins. A lot.  There’s just one small problem: the championship game.

Since winning the inaugural Backroom title in 2018, Matt has become the definition of always the bridesmaid, never the bride in the Champion’s Division. He finished runner-up in 2020, 2022, and 2024, somehow turning even-numbered years into a recurring appointment with heartbreak.

Matt was also the original co-host of The Commissioner’s Desk Podcast before abandoning the East Coast for California, where we can only assume he now spends Sunday mornings eating avocado toast, checking advanced metrics, and surfing between waiver claims.

Commissioner’s Verdict: One of the smartest and most consistently successful managers in the TCT. Matt can calculate the numbers, find the waiver value, build the roster, and get himself all the way to the championship game. Someday he may even figure out what to do when he gets there.

Bob Simmons is a man of many names: B.Sims, Risk, Bob Awesome, and whatever adjective currently describes his fantasy team. A rapper and member of Risky Biz, Bob is also responsible for one of the TCT’s best traditions—an annual song loaded with lines about league managers that inevitably finds its way onto The Commissioner’s Desk Podcast.

Which is especially funny because Bob never talks in the group chat. No trash talk. No arguments. No weekly commentary. He quietly manages his team all season, saves his material, and apparently prefers to roast everyone professionally from inside a recording studio.  His team names provide their own power rankings. When things are going well, it’s Bobs awesome team. When things are respectable, Bobs average team. When the wheels come off, Bobs awful team. And after scoring an unforgettable 39.70 points in the 2025 Champion’s semifinal, we were introduced to Bobs 39point team.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Quiet, competitive, and impossible to read. Bob won't talk trash in the chat because he's apparently saving his bars for the studio. His fantasy résumé still needs a championship, but at least we'll never have to ask how he thinks his team is doing—the team name usually tells us.

Chris “Critta” Ditata arrived in the TCT with a reputation as an accomplished fantasy manager, and it didn’t take long for him to prove it. Critta is laid-back, prepared, and drafts with the confidence of someone who already knows exactly what he wants.  And what he wants is apparently every running back available.

While the rest of the league debates Zero RB, Hero RB, receiver-heavy builds, and whatever strategy became fashionable that summer, Critta generally keeps things simple: draft a running back, consider his options, and then draft another running back. He stays active on waivers, isn’t afraid to trade, and has turned that old-school approach into three championships.

The résumé has some symmetry, too. Critta won the 2019 Champion’s title, dropped to the Backroom and won that championship in 2021, then climbed back up and captured another Champion’s title in 2024.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Calm, prepared, and completely uninterested in your fantasy-football trends. Critta came to the TCT with a winning reputation and has largely justified it. You can have your sleeper receivers and sophisticated roster construction. Critta will take the running back you wanted—and probably the next one too.

Josh “Big Mo” Fortin entered the TCT in 2022 and immediately established himself as a capable manager with a healthy supply of sarcasm. He comes prepared, knows what he’s doing, and generally keeps the snark holstered—until somebody gets to him. Then Big Mo is more than willing to return fire.

His rookie season produced perhaps the strangest championship in TCT history. Josh defeated Zach Edwards for the 2022 Bush League title after the Bills-Bengals game was canceled following Damar Hamlin’s medical emergency, leaving Zach with players who never got the opportunity to finish the matchup. Josh got the belt; Zach got a lifetime supply of hypothetical projections. Big Mo has since proven the résumé wasn’t built entirely on bizarre circumstances, climbing through the Backroom and reaching the Champion’s Division.

Then there’s The Magnum Opus. To be perfectly clear: Josh did not write the infamous anonymous poem about local women’s feet. He merely lent his voice to history by providing a dramatic reading on the podcast. Somehow, that feels important to clarify.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Prepared, sarcastic, and forever adjacent to controversy without necessarily causing it. Big Mo didn’t cancel the Bills game, and he didn’t write the Magnum Opus. He just happened to walk away with a championship from one and become the narrator of the other.

Chris Stephens has been part of the TCT since the beginning, which is impressive considering he has apparently spent the entire time trying to avoid physically participating in it. He has never attended a draft, never appeared as a podcast guest, never called into the show, and essentially never speaks in the league group chat.  The strange part is that Chris isn't actually quiet. Put him in a smaller group chat with Matt Lincoln and the Commissioner and suddenly the man has plenty to say. Apparently the issue isn't communication—it's audience size.

His fantasy résumé is equally difficult to explain. Chris struggled early, then suddenly won the 2017 Champion’s Championship, eventually fell into the Backroom, reached the Backroom final in 2022, and somehow worked his way back into the Champion’s Division. His overall record doesn't exactly scream fantasy powerhouse, but every time you start wondering whether he belongs at the top level, he does just enough to remain there.

Commissioner’s Verdict: The TCT’s original enigma. He won't attend the draft, won't call the podcast, won't talk in the league chat, and owns a losing career record. Yet somehow Chris has a Champion’s belt and continues occupying a seat in the league’s highest division. Does he belong there? Apparently. He's still here.

Billy Dillingham may be the nicest manager in the TCT. He is also, by a considerable margin, one of the people you would least like to inform that he has been relegated. Billy doesn’t just lift weights—he competes in strongman-level lifting. This has led to a long-running theory that the TCT promotion and relegation system works perfectly fine; nobody has simply been willing to explain it to Billy.

His fantasy approach is similarly no-nonsense. Billy shows up to the draft, drafts his team, does what needs to be done, and leaves. He rarely speaks in the group chat and occasionally surfaces during the season to make a waiver claim or trade. Then, presumably, he goes back to lifting something that requires several other people to move.

There is also the mystery of Forever SOCO. Billy inherited Dave Stephens’ old team name when he entered the Champion’s Division and simply… never changed it. Nobody knows why. Billy hasn’t explained it, and in the interest of league safety, the Commissioner has decided this does not require further investigation.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Extremely nice, extremely strong, and apparently immune to questions. Billy has no championships and a losing record in both divisions he’s played in, yet remains in the Champion’s Division. There may be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this. Somebody else can ask him.

Mike Caruso came to the TCT through an old Marine Corps friendship with the Commissioner, and he approaches fantasy football with the kind of preparation you’d expect from someone who takes this stuff seriously. He drafts prepared, works the waiver wire, and is always looking for a trade.  The problem is that a Caruso trade proposal usually comes with one important question: How exactly is Mike trying to screw me here? He is the league’s resident trade shark, constantly shopping players and searching for the manager willing to value his assets exactly as highly as Mike has decided they should be valued.

Caruso is also a frequent caller to The Commissioner’s Desk Podcast, a devoted Buffalo Bills fan living in upstate New York, and commissioner of another league featuring both Chris and Chace. In that role, Mike endures relentless abuse from his managers and threatens to quit approximately once per year. As a fellow commissioner, Chris understands exactly how difficult the job can be. Naturally, this has never stopped him from contributing to Mike’s suffering.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Prepared, active, relentless at the trade table, and one of the Commissioner’s closest friends. Mike has gone from the Bush League to a Backroom championship in four seasons, proving that beneath the trade proposals, Bills-induced emotional damage, and annual commissioner resignation threat is a damn good fantasy manager. Just read the fine print before accepting anything he sends you.

Chris founded the TCT in 2015 and has served ever since as Commissioner, keeper of the TinCan Tavern, and co-host of The Commissioner’s Desk Podcast with Chace Jabotte. After failed experiments with trade vetoes, league voting, and an ill-fated trade committee, Chris has learned an important lesson about fantasy-football governance: democracy sounds better on paper.

As a manager, Chris is prepared, aggressive on waivers, and constantly tinkering. He’ll enter every draft with a detailed plan and then immediately reach for one of “his guys.” Recent favorites Joe Mixon and Nick Chubb have now left the NFL, while Derrick Henry remains his personal postseason boogeyman—twice exploding against Chris in crushing playoff losses, including last season’s Backroom Championship.

Despite rarely talking trash himself, Chris monitors the league chats, keeps the peace, runs the events, hosts the podcast, and somehow manages a league in which half the membership appears related to him.

Commissioner’s Verdict: Prepared, obsessive, occasionally too loyal to his guys, and increasingly skeptical of democracy. He built the league, built the Tavern, and built the scoring system—which makes it particularly suspicious that he currently sits at the top of it.
